Italian for Foreigners
Our Italian Language program includes intensive week-long or month-long courses.
Classes are thought for those who study Italian for work in areas such as business, industry and commerce and to “new Italians” who have decided to move to Italy for an extended period, or for tourists who visit Italy often.
Within our Italian programs we follow the 6-level classification defined by the Società Dante Alighieri, which, in turn, follows the directives administered by the “Common European Framework of Reference for Languages”.
At the end of the program students who wish to obtain an official certificate valid throughout the world, can take– besides our own exam – the PLIDA exam that confers the Diploma certificate issued by the Società Dante Alighieri, in accordance with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Società Dante Alighieri was founded in Rome in 1889 and got its name from Giosuè Carducci. Their mission is to spread the Italian language and culture around the world. It has offices in 60 countries around the world, in all 5 continents, with a network of 500 foreign committees in addition to the 80 committees in Italy.

PLIDA Diploma (Progetto Lingua Italiana Dante Alighieri) Dante Alighieri Italian Language Project
The PLIDA certification is awarded by the Società Dante Alighieri on the basis of an agreement with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Conv. n.1903 of 4.11.1993).
The PLIDA certification is an official document that denotes the degree of linguistic proficiency of Italian as a foreign language on a scale of 6 levels, each of these representing a progressively higher level of linguistic and communicative proficiency.
The six levels of PLIDA go from A1 to C2 in increasing difficulty and correspond to the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework of Reference for Language Learning and Teaching (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment, Milano, La Nuova Italia - Oxford, 2002, pp. 29-31).
